Oxnard Woman Pleads Guilty to Auto Insurance Fraud

VENTURA, Calif. – The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office announced today that on

October 2, 2023, Natasha Monique Villegas (DOB 03/19/84), of Oxnard, pled guilty to one count of

felony automobile insurance fraud.

On March 13, 2020, Villegas was involved in a traffic collision, and she was uninsured at the time

of the collision. The following day, she purchased a policy from Esurance. Villegas failed to

disclose at that time she had been involved in a traffic collision the day before. On March 20, 2020,

Villegas filed a claim on Esurance, alleging that she had been in an accident on March 19. An

investigation revealed that Villegas reported a false date of the traffic collision to Esurance to have

the insurance company pay the cost of damages sustained in the March 13 accident.
