Fire losses, heavy equipment, and suspicious burglaries in East Ohio

This investigation began in 2016 with a request, regarding two property fires from the Ohio State Fire Marshal and a local Ohio Fire Department. While researching the two fires, NICB agent found additional individuals that were likely to have been involved resulting in additional fire losses, as well as, additional claims involving heavy equipment thefts and suspicious burglaries.  NICB agent and Field Analyst, along with the other investigating agencies, were able to get the case accepted by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.  On July 6, 2021 seven individuals were indicted by a Grand Jury on charges of: Engaging in a Pattern of Corrupt Activity, Aggravated Arson, Arson, Aggravated Theft, Grand Theft, and Insurance Fraud.  The group is responsible for fraudulently collecting 1.2 million dollars from member companies.
