Police academy cadets helped with the etching event 

On October 22, 2022, NICB Special Agent K. Hutt joined the Newport News Police Department at their catalytic converter VIN engraving and glass etching event at Newport News Park in Virginia.  The event was co-sponsored by WTKR (Channel 3) and the National Insurance Crime Bureau.  Newport News police academy cadets joined law enforcement officers and detectives in conducting this event. During the event unique VINs were engraved onto catalytic converters and onto glass windows for 107 automobiles.
