NICB Special Agent Scherer Receives Award from Virginia State Police HEAT Program

On August 26, 2024, NICB Supervisory Special Agent W. Rowe accepted the Viriginia State Police HEAT Program Public Outreach Award on behalf of NICB Special Agent C. Scherer. The award was presented at the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police and Foundation (VACP) annual conference held in Roanoke, VA. Virginia State Police HEAT Awards represent four key areas in the fight against auto theft. HEAT Awards recognize individuals who have gone above and beyond to help eliminate auto theft. To be considered for an award, nominees should demonstrate above-average efforts in the following areas: Enforcement, Intelligence, Prevention or Recovery. NICB SA C. Scherer was nominated by the Newport News Police Department for his public outreach efforts combatting the theft of catalytic converters.
