Pet Insurance Fraud Results in Termination and Criminal Charges
The NICB assisted a Member Company and local law enforcement with the investigation of a questionable pet insurance treatment reimbursement claim. The invoice submitted to support the $3,500 reimbursement claim was allegedly processed through the insured’s employer’s computer system and then deleted to avoid discovery. The insured was terminated from her employment at the veterinary hospital, and later arrested and charged with Felony Computer Crime.
