Two men charged for series of truck thefts

ATHENS, Ala. (WAFF) - Limestone County authorities have arrested two men for a series of truck and trailer thefts across North Alabama.
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrests of Tommy Kaye Thompson and William Flint Childers through a joint investigation with the Athens Police Department.
Thompson, 31, of Tanner, is facing five counts of Theft of Property First Degree, Receiving Stolen Property in the First Degree, and Receiving Stolen Property in the Second Degree.
Childers, 45, of Harvest is charged with Theft of Property First Degree and Receiving Stolen Property First Degree.
Investigators recovered several stolen vehicles and trailers during their investigation, according to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office.
Both men were taken to the Limestone County Detention Center. Thompson’s bond was set at $37,500. Childers is being held without bond due to a previous theft arrest.
