Joint Operation Recovers 9 Vehicles, 5 Arrested
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A six-week operation conducted between California Highway Patrol, Bakersfield Police Department, Kern County Sheriff's Office and the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NCIB) recovered nine "high-end vehicles," estimated at approximately $340,000, 14 firearms and narcotics according to CHP.
The Kern County Auto Theft Task Force (KernCATT) conducted search warrants on several locations in Bakersfield, investigating stolen VIN switch vehicles. Three illegal gambling "Fish Games" were also found and turned over to the Kern County Sheriff's Office for investigation. Five suspects were arrested during the operation, said CHP.
