Oxnard Man Pleads Guilty to Automobile Insurance Fraud

VENTURA, Calif. – The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office announced today that Enrique Gabriel Doria (DOB 11/20/97), of Oxnard, pled guilty on May 20, 2024, to one felony count of automobile insurance fraud.

In late 2022, Doria’s vehicle was involved in a collision. He took the vehicle to a repair shop to obtain an estimate for the cost of repairs. After obtaining the estimate, Doria contacted his automobile insurance company, Progressive, and lowered his deductible on the vehicle. He subsequently falsely reported to Progressive that the collision occurred on a date after he had lowered his deductible.
